My son’s Bday is coming up in about a month. He will be 2. MY wife suggested bringing some kids to one of the indoor playplace or bouncy house type places, but I think he is a little young for that. It would end up being his sisters and cousins what are older than him, so its getting away from being for him. I wante d to take him on the Cape Cod train, but that shuts down in October. We dont really want to just do pizza and beer and have all the adults   just hanging around the house drinking.

What do you guys do for a two year olds birthday?

For my baby cousin, 2nd birthday was a invite a few little friends over. Invite family. Have a big ol tray of nuggets. And a few new toys.

Sportball was on the tv the whole day.

I had my two year old’s birthday at the Providence Children’s Museum, plenty of stuff for toddler age kids...mainly a big water room where my son must have spent 45 min utes straight throwing stuff down a whirlpool. He had a blast. So that would be my suggestion, children’s science museum.

The bounce house places we had for parties were expensive and noisy, and a little tyke could get tramp led easily. He’ll enjoy them in a couple of years, but I wouldn’t do that now. You could rent a bounce house for the yard if you want, and do games and activities. That’s what we did. Just go with a theme based on what he’s into right now. I think we did a Dora the Explorer thing one year, for instance.

At that age, expensive venues are kind of a waste.

My niece turns 2 in a few weeks. We're just going to my sister's house for a small gathering. I'd say just keep it cheap since your child will have no recollection of the event. Based on my own memory, this is what I'd recommend for any birthday until the age of about 10.

Our first couple of birthday parties we had at the house with family. Once he was three and in preschool, we started inviting friends and neighbors to his party. My wife loves planning parties, so we’ve always had them at our house with various themes. I remember for his second birthday party, we did a “Minute to Win It” theme, where there was a lot of fun action that he could participate in.

By all means invite the family and get all the kids together. To go sledding or something else fun for all involved that is somewhere from  free to cheap as all get out.  Socialize the young OPPOsaurus not buy his interest.

Apple picking! There’s a few orchards in central MA with petting zoos.

Cake and ice cream and have grandma and grandpa and any aunts and uncles  over if they’re close.

It’s small, but it’s nice. They’ve got a room with tables and stuff where you can do cake and presents, then the kids can go out into the museum. Where are you from, northern MA?
